In 2001, we built our first venture: Pro Service Painting.
What began with a brush and a ladder grew into a company known for its consistency, craftsmanship, and integrity.
We restored heritage homes, managed crews, and earned our reputation the honest way—one job, one hand-finished detail at a time.
But deep down, we always knew we were meant to build something more.

Years later, that calling found us—deep in the wilds of Mabel Lake.
We found a cabin.
We chopped our own wood.
We built our first fire.
We sweated in the heat.
We plunged into the freezing creek.
And somewhere in that rhythm—sweat, breath, stillness, cold—something ancient awoke.
It wasn’t just survival.
It wasn’t just lifestyle.
It was a ritual.
A return to something real.
That cabin became our forge.
Our workshop.

And eventually—our calling.

A Legacy Carved in Timber and Time
My story is rooted in centuries-old Viking bloodlines. As a Thorvaldson—descendant of Icelandic settlers and the legendary Erik the Red—my family’s journey runs from the windswept shores of Iceland to the wilds of Canada.
For generations, we’ve built, explored, and endured. The Viking spirit—brave, bold, resilient—lives on in my hands and my work.
From the Jobsite to the Forge of Imagination
I didn’t start out building luxury saunas or dreaming up Viking retreats. My journey began on the jobsite, painting houses alongside my brother—learning the value of hard work, integrity, and a job done right.
Over two decades, we built Pro Service Painting from the ground up, taking on projects big and small, always striving for a higher standard. That hands-on grit taught me the power of craft, attention to detail, and the satisfaction of creating something with your own two hands.
But the more I built for others, the more I wanted to build something of my own—something lasting, meaningful, and true to my roots. That’s where Valhalla’s Edge was born.

Valhalla’s Edge was born from a simple, burning question: What if a sauna could be more than just a place to sweat?
After years of building for others, I craved a project that blended my heritage, my love of craft, and my obsession with wellness—a place that felt like a Viking sanctuary, both beautiful and bold. One winter, staring out at the snow, the vision hit me: a handcrafted retreat where modern comfort meets ancient legend. The kind of space I would be proud to put my name on—and my ancestors would recognize as their own.

Epic Moments
Every legend has its milestones. Mine began with a paintbrush and a dream, building a business from the ground up with my brother. The call to adventure took me to Iceland, tracing my family’s footsteps and returning with a vision: to bring Viking spirit into modern life.
From writing my first book to building the prototype sauna that started it all, each step has been a leap of faith, a swing of the hammer, and a moment to remember. And this is just the beginning.
2001:
- Built a thriving painting business, took on large-scale commercial projects, and started investing in real estate.
2010's
- Began exploring my Viking roots—family trip to Iceland, visiting ancestral farms, and discovering the power of heritage.
2019
- Bought our family Canin at Mabel Lake. Started my building journey. Conceived Valhalla’s Edge—a brand blending my love of woodworking, wellness, and Viking legend.
2022
- Wrote and published multiple books on Viking mindset, wellness, and fitness, sharing the BRAVE philosophy.
2023
- Designed and prototyped the first Valhalla’s Edge sauna—combining traditional craft with modern luxury.
2024
- Launched Valhalla’s Edge online—expanding into custom saunas, cold plunges, retreats, and the Viking lifestyle movement.
2025
- Leading a movement to help others unleash their inner Viking—one project, one community, and one legendary experience at a time.
